A Few of My Favorite Things

(Cute linking graphic coming as soon as Sweetling makes one for me.)

Kisses from children and snuggles in mornings,
Pink-inked devotions and cocoa for yearnings,
Large picture windows and glad songs to sing,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Daffodils in springtime and gay leaves in autumn,
Homeschool and tickles and boppings on bottoms,
Blue eyes that lovingly look into mine,
These simple delights I do find so fine!

Squirrels in the backyard go leaping through treetops,
Christmastime carols and sunsets from hilltops,
Looking for fairies and gnomes in the woods,
These are the blessing that bring me good moods!

When the taters' raw,
But the meat is burnt,
And the crockpot goes unplugged,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bummed.

Panda Garden dinners and hot fudge from Heggy's,
Stoffer's lasagna and finding my car keys,
Cute bunny slippers with whiskers and tails,
Twitter and blogspot and getting emails!

Beating the Jedi when we race with Wii motes,
Gardens and roleplays and conservative voters,
Palin for President has a nice ring,
And these are a few of my favorite things.

Girls I lead in praise dance and teaching at VBS,
Hocking Hills and waterfalls and making a little mess,
Birthdays and butterflies and fuzzy Webkinz,
And I can't forget my fav'rite penguins!

When the sky is gray
On a winter day,
And some of my hairs are too--
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so blue!

Hi there!
I'm sorry I didn't make it clear in my post, but I wanted everyone to copy the list I made and post their favourite homeschool links under each category.

I've edited the post and hope I haven't confused too many! LOL

Also I think there must be something going on with the Mr. Linky site because no linkys will show up on any blogs. Please keep checking back here to leave your #5 post!

Blessings!
Miss Jocelyn

What great song lyrics! Very creative. Even brilliant. I love the part about the Stouffer's lasagne. LOL!

Poor Jocelyn! She went around to all of us early birds and copied and pasted the same message. Obviously she didn't read your absolutely DELIGHTFUL rendition of My Favorite Things. I LOVE IT! Honest, now. How long did it take you to come up with that poem/song? You are one talented writer. Oh, I should have guessed. You are "Random." Random folks are the gifted creative people on the planet... :-)

I once wrote a new song to the tune "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast. 3 of us put together a homeschool "fashion" show for the legislators' luncheon at our state homeschool convention one year. The talented writer of the "fashion" show and creator of the clothes she and the third team member modeled wrote the script, which I read (Do you know how many times I had to READ it in my bedroom and practice not bursting into laughter??? It was a real challenge!). The homeschool fashions were designed with homeschool moms in mind and it is the funniest thing I've ever seen! Anyway, we sang an opening, and I wrote the words to the Be Our Guest for the Fashion Show. It was such a hit that the leadership encored us to give the Fashion Show to the 2,000+ general assembly that evening at the University of Puget Sound field house, where the graduation was being held.

I kept a straight face while I read to the crowd and the team modeled and demonstrated the Homeschool Mom outfits, but only by the grace of God.

What a hoot! Wish someone had videotaped it.
