Curriculum 2011-2012

Sorry for the extra comment step. I hadn't realized that putting my curriculum on its own tabbed page wouldn't have an option on the page for leaving a comment.

I really do want your feedback please!

You've got a great year planned! I didn't finish all of ECC last year with my then 3rd grader. We picked it up half-way through the school, and made it to Africa. I'm hoping that I can incorporate it somehow-at least the Geography portion with 1850 to Modern Times. Nice job with planning out your history!! We're also using Vocab. from Classical Roots, and two study guides from Progeny Press:)Have a great year!

Interesting. I had planned on using MFW Creation to the Greeks this year (after doing ECC last year and mostly liking it...though I did have to tweak quite a bit for my kids' ages), BUT I have the materials and we even started a couple of weeks ago and I REALLY dislike the main history AND science books. Ack! I've already made a substitution for science and am waiting for the books to arrive, and I'm looking at options for history. One may have me switching to Mystery of History and the other will have me trying to meld in a different book's reading with CtG. This has totally thrown me a for a loop (because we LOVED Adventures and I thought my tweaking of ECC was only for that year), but it's actually encouraging to me to hear of someone using MFW's general approach and putting things together for yourself. Maybe there's hope for me yet!

Sounds like a busy year! Sonlight uses the Joy Hakim books in their American History curriculum. We are blessed to find them at our local library! Yay!

I love your line up. Sound like you are ready for a great year. We are venturing into Michael Clay Thompson material this year as well. Looking forward to it.
